Stop staring at a screen(and go do something)

No really, stop. I know, kind of ironic since your reading this on the Internet, right? If there is one thing that I am good at, it's doing nothing. Sometimes, especially after work, I'll get home and fire up my computer and zone out. Nine times out of ten when the nights browsing has ended I'm left feeling aggravated and a upset. For awhile I did not understand the feelings I was having, it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I came to a realization. The reason I was left feeling aggravated was because in those hours I spent browsing I did not get anything done.

You see, I get joy from completing tasks and most of all seeing my accomplishments, so when I spend time mindlessly surfing the Internet I'm temporarily tricking my brain into fulfilment. When I snap out of it I'm left feeling aggravated because there's nothing to show for the time spent. If you find yourself surfing the web for hours apon hours try logging off for awhile, you might be surprised at how much better you'll feel. And if you can't think of anything to do or if everything sounds boring(which is a problem that plagues me) try something brand new. Never tried origami? Start folding some paper. Or maybe something more adventurous? Take a walk or go to a local park. You could even bring along a camera and snap some pictures(so you have something to show for your time) The important thing is that you brake the cycle of whatever it is that is leaving you feeling unfulfilled.
